American Legend Cooperative names

Nike executive Joseph E. Morelli

as President & CEO

RENTON,WA - American Legend Cooperative today announced that longtime Nike and DuPont executive Joe Morelli has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the world-leading fur marketing organization.

"Joe Morelli is a proven leader in brand development and business growth, both domestically and internationally, for two of the world's best-known companies," said Stan Rees, Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. "With our world-leading brands and global marketplace, this is an outstanding fit."

"American Legend ranks in the forefront of the fur industry and luxury fashion," Morelli said. "I am very excited to join this company and this industry. I strongly believe that some of the key elements of business strategy, brand development and international business growth that I have learned in the past have direct applications in this industry as well."

Morelli, 47, has spent the last 26 years with Nike and DuPont, rising through increasingly responsible management roles involving consumer products, including apparel and hard goods, from sport to high-end fashion. In August of 2000, Morelli was named General Manager for Nike's Vision Timing Techlab, which develops and markets the company's eyewear, watches and electronic products worldwide. He helped develop these businesses from their infancy into the strong international position they hold today. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Marketing in the Graduate School of Business at Concordia University in Portland, OR.

Morelli will assume his new position on July 28. He replaces Steven L. Casotti, who resigned for family reasons earlier this year and remains with the company as an advisor. Morelli was selected after a nationwide executive search.

He has an MBA from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware. He and his wife, Susan, have three children: a son, Michael, 20; and twins, son Nicholas and daughter Jordan, 16.

American Legend has enjoyed strong success in recent years. Its Blackglama® and American Legend® brands are the best known in the fur industry, and Blackglama is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In 2006, the company reorganized as a stock cooperative. That enabled members to become stockholders in the company, which has been financially stronger than at any time in its 111-year history.
